📅 – October Club Meeting Recap

The Kent County Amateur Radio Club gathered for its October meeting on Tuesday evening, with members enjoying a night of club updates, technical presentations, and discussion about several ongoing projects.

One of the highlights of the evening was a presentation by Tim, KC3OO, on the club’s newly installed Sinclair SD-14 antenna for the 146.910 repeater. The antenna was generously donated by Nick, N3YMS, and installed by Nick and his team. Tim reviewed the antenna’s design, capabilities, and the coverage improvements members can expect as a result of the upgrade. The club extends its sincere thanks to Nick and everyone involved in making the project a success.

Members also received an update on plans for a new antenna at the Kent County Emergency Operations Center. Discussions continue and the project remains a work in progress as the club evaluates options and requirements.

Election season is also approaching. All current club officers have announced their intention to run again for their respective positions in 2027. Nominations remain open through the November meeting, with elections to be held at that time.

The evening also included an informative presentation by Steve, KC3DSO, who introduced members to Logbook of The World (LoTW). Steve covered the basics of getting started, how the system works, and some of the many features available to operators looking to confirm contacts electronically. https://www.arrl.org/quick-start

Looking ahead, the club’s annual Christmas Party will once again be held at the EOC as a potluck dinner, taking the place of the regular December meeting. More details will be shared as the event approaches.

The next regular meeting of the Kent County Amateur Radio Club will be held on Tuesday, November 9. We look forward to seeing everyone there for another evening of amateur radio fellowship, learning, and club business.
