John K3PFW and Jerry N3KRX will be hosting the ARRL Basic Emcomm Course, EC-001, on August 13-14 and 20-21.
Class to be held at the EOC (see the map above) between 9 AM and 3 PM each day.
Description. This course is designed to provide basic knowledge and tools for any emergency communications volunteer. The course has 6 sections with 28 lesson topics, and includes a selection of student activities, knowledge review quizzes, and a final assessment.
Prerequisites. Before you attend the course you should have completed the following prerequisites. These courses provide a foundation for the content of this course. These are free mini-courses you can take online on the FEMA website:
- ICS-100 (IS-100.c) Introduction to the Incident Command System
- IS-700 (IS-700.b) National Incident Management System
Students need IS-100 and IS-700 to be able to take the final assessment on the 21st.
There is no fee for the class.
